Growing up on a family ranch in the Gallatin Valley of Montana was an experience of a lifetime. Working around cattle, horses, and other ranch animals has inspired me to try and capture that life in my paintings and carvings. My goal is to produce artwork that will touch the hearts and minds of others bringing them happiness.

My love for wildlife is also a big part of my inspiration. In Montana, you can see wildlife almost daily. I cherish the time I have spent watching and studying these creatures. I truly do feel blessed to live in a place that respects their habitat and place in the landscape.

It is nice to have more than one medium with which to work. It gives me a chance to relax and think about how the medium would be best engaged to depict the subject.

From a very young age, I found that art gave me a way to express the aspects of the ranching lifestyle. Working with wood in carpentry aspects around the ranch, sketching cartoons and depictions of day to day life, and art classes in my youth all fueled my curiosity for the art world. I had the privilege of having my work shown in the CM Russell Art Show and Auction in 1978. Now that I am retired, I am spending many hours engrossed in the carving and paintings that bring me the greatest joy. When my hands and mind need a break from my artwork, I spend time playing the piano that has been a part of my life since I was 6 years old. You can hear a small sampling of these tunes on my LISTEN page.
